Telegärtner presents the new AMJ-SL 25G RJ45 module for data rates up to 25 Gigabits per second

The independent test lab GHMT certified that the link of Telegärtner’s cat. 7_A system cable and the new AMJ-SL 25G RJ45 module transmits 25 Gigabit Ethernet.

Strictly speaking, the new AMJ-SL 25G is a cat.6_A module, but it offers so much more. With the system cables AMJ14000 (cat. 7_A) and AMJ2000 (cat. 8.2) it transmits 25 Gigabit Ethernet 25GBASE-T over the full 30 meters as common for class I channels. This was certified in a type approval b the independent test lab GHMT.

“Future-proof solutions and best-possible protection of investments made by our customers are among the top priorities of the AMJ-SL 25G“, says Marcel Leonhard, Director Business Units ICT & DCF at Telegärtner. “This includes the correct classification that is recognized by the cabling standards. The often quoted Technical Report ISO/IEC TR 11801-9905 is valid only for testing an existing link and clearly states that new cabling for 25 Gigabit Ethernet has to use cat. 8.1/8.2 components. With our customers in mind we decided to offer two modules which both can transmit 25 Gigabit Ethernet: The AMJ Cat.8.1 for new cabling that is meant to transmit 25 or 40 Gigabit Ethernet from day one on and the new AMJ-SL 25G which exceeds category 6_A in that way that it can transmit 25 Gigabit Ethernet in the channel in applications of tomorrow and the days after. This way we once more offer our customers more than the standards demand.“

Like with all Telegärtner RJ45 modules there is no need for special tools or even a punch-down tool to install the AMJ-SL 25G on the cable. And it fits in any of the previous module carriers. And like so many other Telegärtner cabling components it is covered by the 25 years extended system warranty.
